Jasper Wedding Bells

On the road to Southern Indiana.

Zoom Zoom.

Rotary, baby.

Lunch stop in Lafayette at DT Kirby's, a friendly spot for Chicago sports fans.

They have food too. Big food.

Kate wields a pork tenderloin sandwich.

The "Uncle" sandwich, designed to make you cry "UNCLE!"

Going, going... gone.

These cornstalks stretched about seven or eight feet in the air.

After lunch we stretch our legs.

Jungle-Jon.

One of several old covered bridges in the area.

Covered bridge handstands!!

Cataract Falls.

Unlike many midwest road trips, the route we took along hilly, twisty roads and through
colorful autumn leaves made every mile a pleasure to drive.

West Baden Springs Hotel

West Baden resort hotel of French Lick, a popular destination for movie stars during the roaring 20s.

With renovations recently completed, the hotel is open again. We take a look around.

The interior is incredible!

Built in 1901, this was the world's largest free-standing dome until the Astrodome was built in 1965.

The mothership has landed.

“Take me to your leader.”

These lounge chairs were extremely comfortable!

As were the rocking chairs on the peaceful porch outside.

The landscaping and grounds were pretty nice too.

I really liked this frog fountain.

Another stop to stretch our legs.

Weeee!!

We kill some time waiting for the Chicken Place to open.

It was worth the wait.

We ended our night at the Schnitzel Bank.
