To find the pristine blue gem disguised as a lake you must first hike a million miles straight up a never ending trail, according to my children.

Somewhere short of a million miles straight up we reached nirvana
(and a snack break for the kids).

After a quick dip, we enjoyed a gentler route (and some of Nana's jelly beans) back down the mountainside.

Incredible views on the slow hike down.
