Petco Park
The first thing I immediately loved about this stadium is how open it is to the city.
This park space behind right field is open to the public year-round.
... except during gamedays when a few bucks will get you a nice relaxing patch of grass -- pretty sweet!
The view into the stadium from here isn't bad.
A few pitchers and catchers were already getting a little work in.
I'm not used to seeing palm trees in front of the ballparks I regularly visit.
I'll always love how stadiums open up as you walk down the aisle.
Best seat in the house!
One of the coolest features of this ballpark is how it was built around the Western Metal Supply Co. building which is a historic landmark. The left field foul poll is literally painted onto the corner and the concourse runs straight through.
View from the Western Metal Supply building's 3rd floor balcony.
This stadium makes my top-5 list of favorite ballparks and I owe it a return visit to catch the Padres play ball someday.
