The Grand Canyon

The drive from Sedona to the South Rim took a few hours but the open road offered some nice views.

And at long last, the Grand Canyon!

I could probably have enjoyed sitting here for hours just staring into that canyon.

Some spots along the rim offered peeks at the Colorado River.

Day Hike into the Canyon

Can you imagine hiking from one end to the other?

Into the canyon we go.

It's a long way to the bottom, and the snow certainly didn't make for quick feet.

It's quite a different experience to be surrounded by the canyon walls and not just looking down into them.

This spot was as far as we decided to go.

We stopped at a few road-side lookouts before heading back to Sedona.

Although many of the views are similar, I could not help but take a photo at each lookout.
