Winter Wonderland in Sedona

We awoke to discover Sedona covered in snowfall, engulfed in fog and illuminated by eerie morning light.

I adjusted my white balance and captured some of the sights.

Meanwhile breakfast was being prepared inside.

I've learned you can't have an Ansorge family gathering without a round of Dutch Babies.

Kate and Gretchen work on a puzzle, another Ansorge tradition.

By the afternoon the sky had cleared up and the sun was already melting away the night's snowfall.

Quite a difference just a few hours can make around here.

As nice as the scenery was before, I certainly appreciated the unexpected change.

I made good use of the snow that had fallen on our porch.

It was hard to believe our surroundings looked like this just a day ago.

Broken Arrow Canyon Hiking

The morning's snowmelt made parts of the trail pretty muddy.

Gretchen checks out the scenery.

The view from here went on for as far as the eye could see.

Nestled below the canyons are several homes.

We spotted a couple of those Pink Jeeps around these parts.

We tried to hike the Secret Mountain.

Unfortunately, this was about as far as we got.

We visited the Chapel of the Holy Cross (aka Church on the Rock).

We also grabed a pint and several baskets full of peanuts at one of Sedona's local breweries.

The last bit of a sunset from our back porch.
